SCOT FREE SESSIONS

Alt-Rock meets Americana in Scot Free Sessions’ release ‘Istanbul’. This release tells the haunting tale of modern romance.

‘Istanbul’ features an all-Edmonton collective of musicians from the lead vocals and guitar skills of Bobby Cameron, the backing vocals of Andrea House, two CCMA Hall of Honour Inductees Chad Melchert on drums and Travis Switzer on bass.

This all-star lineup promises to be a good one so let’s get into the details of the song!

Beginning in one relaxing sweep, listeners are welcomed into the calming plucks of Americana meets folk-style acoustic guitar. Once the lead vocals come into the piece everything becomes calm with an air of soul. Further enhanced by the juxtaposition of male-to-female vocals, this song develops into a piece full of subtle yet dominating bass guitar and percussion.

‘Istanbul’ has all the key markers of a true folk-telling story that is brought to life by the minimal velocity which allows listeners to get lost within the entirety of the song.

A beautiful and carefully created release.
