German pop-rock duo Schartel infuses electronic energy into their latest single, Alive, a dynamic anthem of hope and resilience.

German pop-rock duo Schartel, composed of brothers Christian and Alexander Schartel, return with their latest single, Alive. This dance-pop-infused track, taken from their upcoming 2025 album Colors, is the most electronic song the duo has created to date, blending ’90s-style piano melodies, atmospheric synths, and powerful live instrumentation.

At its core, Alive is an anthem of resilience, encouraging listeners to find hope in the face of challenges. The song’s rich production and layered sonic elements create an immersive listening experience, making it one of Schartel’s most dynamic releases yet.

A Fusion of Genres and Emotions

Schartel is known for their genre-blurring approach, mixing modern pop sensibilities with rock and progressive elements. Alive exemplifies this, as it opens with a nostalgic piano riff before launching into a euphoric blend of synth-driven hooks and driving percussion.

“Alive is about rediscovering joy and purpose,” says Christian Schartel. “It’s a reminder that even in difficult moments, there’s always something to hold onto.”

Lyrically, the song carries a deep emotional weight, reflecting on finding strength during adversity. The optimistic chorus, “Oh, take me back to the place that I belong to / Oh, take me back to the place where I first saw you… and feel alive,” captures the song’s theme of nostalgia, longing, and rediscovery.

A Glimpse Into Colors

Set to release later in 2025, Colors will mark Schartel’s most ambitious project yet, incorporating a diverse range of sounds. While the album leans into progressive rock and alternative influences, Alive showcases the band’s ability to experiment with electronic elements, making it a standout moment in their evolving sound.

Now Streaming Everywhere

Schartel’s Alive is now available on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, and all major streaming platforms. The lyric video, which visually captures the song’s themes of self-discovery and movement, is also available on the band’s YouTube channel.

With Alive, Schartel solidifies themselves as one of Germany’s most promising pop-rock acts, pushing boundaries and creating music that resonates on both an emotional and sonic level.
