Classical, eloquent, emotive bliss is what came to mind when I first heard the opening of Scarlet Mill’s ‘Sinking Man’. Without losing any eloquence whatsoever, this song transmits an energy of individuality and authenticity in its mixture of classical jazz and glam rock. A ballad for all, a country and western spin on jazz is something that I have never heard until this very moment as I listen attentively and type away. As I type I feel myself being taken through a landscape of liberation, a curse has been lifted, understood and freed. ‘Sinking Man’ is a song that many will relate to.
From the jazz feel of the Saxophones and a grand piano to the country and western influence of the guitar strums and solos. A jewellery box lullaby haunts as the track comes to a close.
This deserves a spot in our Ones2Watch, no conferring, I label this a piece of art in the truest sense of the word.
