REVIEW

Manchester's very own #NickonFaith has released his highly anticipated album #Circumambient. This album showcases 11 original tracks that range from the relaxing to rave anthems in a mixture of electronic dance tracks. #Intro is just as it says on the tin. This introduction entices listeners into the world of #NikonFaith in a hypnotic South Asian-inspired fusion. Next up is the title piece #Circumambient and again, just as it says, it's an ambient piece that borders on the hypnotic. What I love about this production is that it's upbeat enough to make a statement on workout playlists but also relaxing enough for long journeys or periods of reflection. Not many tracks can blur boundaries in this way - this is impressive. #SomethingMissing continues the ambient feel but brings something cinematic to the equation. It builds up at a great pace - I'd definitely use this one in a promo video. #Re:Thoughts is a piece that lifts the energy of the track through the progressive deep and tropical house synths and classic drum beats. This is a really chill house track that will get you in the mood to relax and dance at the same time. #TheFloatingWord whisks you into a fairytale of house and trance before lifting into something that would fit perfectly in a rave. I love the skill and creativity of this artist - he has a lot to say through his music even though it is absent of words. #ColoursInMyHead is a slow-burning trance piece that will cause you to find your head or lose it through a production that would suit reflective sessions and raves alike. #TheseFaces brings the classic house kick back to the project in a piece that is both experimentally wacky yet melodic. The mixing techniques in this piece bring out the best of #NikonFaith's artistic abilities. #WanderingTokyo is another hypnotic track that fuses the worlds of techno and house. Both uplifting and deep the production of this track has a mixture of tones that merge together to create something extremely ambient and cinematic. #TheSpaceAround continues the path of #WanderingTokyo taking the listener on a trip around the space around them. The vocal chops in this piece offer something minimal but effective to the piece - I love the way it's used to lift the track between transitions. #PlattfieldsWithFlorence is a composition that brings something new to the album before closing doors. This track is less ambient and more cinematic than the others - I feel that the artist had a lot to express through this piece. Closing the album is a track named #DreamOf. The listener is letting dreaming of .... well, something. The track has a great way of building its layers to entice you into a land of your own dreams and thoughts. #NikonFaith has created a great project that would suit radio, clubs, advertising, shisha lounges, beach fronts, and more. 10/10.
