Discover the UAFX Vintage Tremolo FLOW – The Ultimate Three-in-One Pedal Offering Warmth, Brightness, and Precision for Guitar Enthusiasts
UAFX are slowly producing some of the greatest guitar pedals on the market for the money. They are certainly up there in price but you get what you pay for in terms of quality, in both sound and build. Their latest drop included a surprise powerhouse in the form of the UAFX Vintage Tremolo, FLOW pedal. It’s that one right there, bright orange you can’t miss it. It’s a pedal from the past brought into the present. Well, I say a pedal when I more mean three. It’s three pedals in one and they all sound fab!
By three pedals I mean three distinctly different tremolo settings — the first setting being DHARMA. This tremolo keeps us locked in that 60s world. The sound comes out warm and fluffy, not fuzzy let's not get confused. The sound shimmers back and forth, on subtler settings you almost don’t notice it, the haze of a setting sun. If you’re into classic surfer vibes or want a tremolo that feels nostalgic all the way through then this is the one for you. Switch over to 65 and all that classic stuff churns away, leaving what we all think of as a modern tremolo instead.
65 is bright, it takes the whole sound and shifts it. The pace doesn’t distort the sound no matter how slow you go (and you can go real slow). The 65 is the all-rounder. If the DHARMA is pushing things it shouldn’t or drawing too much attention to itself then click over one to 65 and it’ll set you right. Then there comes SQUARE. Which is, well … square. The shift cuts the sound off, leaving a hint of it as a whisper before it comes right on back again. With these three settings, the FLOW becomes an infinitely usable tremolo pedal. It’s bright, fast, and full of modern controls, including tap tempo, that make it so much fun to use. With all this crammed into a pedal package it’s a wonder that the pedal is sitting at £189 on Andertons and £190 on Gear 4 Music. If you need to get your sound shifting, then the FLOW is a brilliant way to do it.
