BACKGROUND

RavenRain is an Italian-born London-based singer and songwriter, who’s aiming to empower and inspire others through her music. RavenRain grew up in the Italian countryside, where her love for music began when she was a toddler. She later attended a music school where she took singing classes and performed at showcases on multiple occasions as well as learning basic piano and guitar. She also auditioned to X-factor before moving to London. Since 2019 she has been performing at different Open-mic and gigs around London.

Her latest track entitled 'LDN-TKYO' is a dance-pop EDM track that hits the audience with a splash of summer and festival vibes. Raven drifts away from her usual theme of mental health and just wants to encourage her listeners to have fun and forget about everything else through the fun and easy nature of the production.

'LDN-TKYO was mixed and mastered by Ashea, one of Alan Walker's producers, this track is showing Raven's versatility and her new sound. Let's have a listen then!

LDN-TKYO REVIEW

LDN-TKYO captured my attention straight away. As listeners, we need something that captures our attention before the first 10 seconds or so of a track. This track brings the heat within this timeframe through the use of a house beat, slick melodic synths, and catchy vocals that are well balanced. Plenty of vocal breaks to make room for vocal chops before bringing something new just before bringing the hook back in. This track knows how to address an audience! The hook is extremely catchy and easily embeds itself into your brain with ease. LDN-TKYO is well mixed and the vocals are crystal clear, Great work! INTERVIEW

What would be your ultimate achievement for your latest single? Is there a particular vision that you had when putting the song together?

I tried not to focus too much on this matter, but still put all my energy, resources and work hard to share my music and reach as many listeners as possible.

If you could define music in one short sentence (no cheating) what would you say?

yes, for sure. I wanted to focus more on the fun side of life, so I wrote a song that encourages the listeners to dance and have fun and not to think at all about the serious parts of life. music is like a lifesaving jacket if your flight is crashing into the ocean like you definitely needed it if you want more chances to survive...sorry I have a really dark and weird sense of humour lol.

When did you first realise that you had the potential to be an artist? Is there a memory that has stuck in your mind as the turning point for you?

there wasn't a specific time or event that made me realise my potential it was definitely and is still more a process for me. But I think music was always in my thoughts and I began writing my own music when I was 14, but I wasn't in a healthy environment I'd say, so it took a long time to reach some stability and kind of realise that this what I am meant to do, my subconscious always knew I just wasn't listening to it as I should have but everything happens for a reason and I am happy about my journey so far and looking forward to what tomorrow has for me.

How would you define your sound?

quirky, colourful, empowering, sassy and savage...definitely like me.

Cubase, Protools, or neither?

Pro tools all my life, no doubt.

This might be a tricky one but Studio vs Live - Which do you prefer and why?

Both can't choose, but I would say that it definitely depends. Right now I'm definitely more studio because I haven't recorded anything new in a long time and can't wait to go back into the studio. However, Live is way more fun to me, you can connect with new fans, and meet fellow musicians and people, and it makes me feel like I'm alive again...it kind of ignites a fire within me.

How do you collaborate with vocalists and other artists?

I haven't collaborated with any others vocalists out there just with my producer, but it's definitely something I'm working on, so stay tuned.

If you had the opportunity to work with one of your favorite musical artists, who would you most like to collaborate with and why?

Imagine Dragons for sure, I kind of rediscovered them recently. Our sounds are different so it would be really cool to see what comes out by mixing them.

What are your future plans? What can we look forward to for the rest of 2022?

I have a remix coming out in July, not telling you which song is, you gotta guess., and I'm looking into releasing a new track in October but I'm not 100% sure yet. Otherwise definitely something in January 2023 is coming out.
