DRUNK ON MY OWN
REVIEW
'Drunk On My Own' is a track that opens with a dream pop/rock opening with some electrifying guitar riffs and heavy drum progressions. The vocals are very country meets pop, similar to some of the classics of #TaylorSwift. I love the way that the track maintains upbeat energy even through the simpler composition found in between the chorus. The guitar in this made the whole track in the way that the progressions weave in and out of the mix to showcase itself. There are some nice additions of acoustic guitar in the verses to add to the country feel of the vocals and a few sprinkles of piano to lift the track and fill the space of the verses. The lyrics are relatable and rememberable. All the signs of a great track are found in 'Drunk On My Own'. Definitely, a piece to check out!

INTERVIEW
What would be your ultimate achievement for your latest single?
I think my ultimate achievement for this single would be just reaching more ears than the last single did, and I do believe that is currently happening so I am very grateful for that.
Is there a particular vision that you had when putting the song together?
For the music we did have some reference tracks however the end result was a mixture of the reference and my own personal sound. For the visuals I knew I wanted it to be focused on the selflove theme which I think we achieved based on the cover photo of the song.
If you could define music in one short sentence (no cheating) what would you say?
I’d have to say when words fail music speaks.
One artist you would bring back to life?
Whitney Houston, she is just one of my favourite vocalists and left such an impression on music.
When did you first realise that you had the potential to be an artist?
Good question, I guess it was when I started performing publicly and really enjoyed connecting with people through music.
Is there a memory that has stuck in your mind as the turning point for you?
Honestly there have been so many memories throughout this journey so far but I’d have to say when I released my first single and people messaged me saying they had the song on repeat and knew the words. That is always so special and made me realize that I’ll be doing this for as long as I can.
Do you play any instruments? If not, is there a specific one that you'd like to learn?
Yes, I play guitar and piano. I’m always on stage with my Taylor Guitar. But I will say I would love to learn to play the drums.
How would you define your sound?
At the moment, it would be if Taylor Swift and Carly Pierce had a baby or in simple terms Country Pop.
What's the story behind your artist name?
There isn’t any big story behind it, Kendra Gabrielle is my first and middle name, just so happened to work perfectly for the genre I’m in.
What is the biggest challenge you've faced as an artist?
The biggest challenge would have to be figuring out who I want to be as an artist sonically, there are so many different ways to go about it but I learned it takes some time getting that one perfected. The sound I have right now may change in a few years but that’s just how we grow as artists.
What are your future plans?
In the future, I’ll be releasing more music and I hope to be playing more shows and festivals.
What can we look forward to for the rest of 2022?
The rest of 2022 will have more shows where people can come out too. There are some other exciting things happening too but you’ll just have to follow my socials to find out about those things.
Where would you like to be 5 years from now?
I’d love to be touring all over Canada, Europe and US.
