SERVING PRESSURE
REVIEW
Serving Pressure opens with no room to ponder before slowing things down with a trap beat and a heavy fast rap flow. The beat is simplistic and repetitive to bring you into the world of words. The rap flow doesn't slip up once it's solid, well-executed, and mixed perfectly with the beat. The beat offers us a dominant trap drum loop, a subtle but effective 808 that hits in all of the right places, and an eerie violin sample that only appears at key points in the piece for effect in all the right places. The simplicity of the beat is effective as it allows for the story to tell itself through the artist's lyrics as he pours out his vivid imagery I really enjoyed listening to this one and can't wait to hear more from 416dede. INTERVIEW
What would be your ultimate achievement for your latest single? Is there a particular vision that you had when putting the song together?
I would like to get my music on some of the hottest playlists, tv shows, and movies. That would be the best way to let people know about my music and a great way to generate revenue for myself.
I really was just trying to make a great song about stuff that I know. I wanted to paint a picture for the audience and describe some scenes to keep their mind engaged. Everybody has been loving it so far.
If you could define music in one short sentence (no cheating) what would you say?
Music is a blank canvas waiting to be created and enjoyed by those willing to pay attention.
One artist you would bring back to life?
One artist I really liked that died too early was Mo3. He had a big impact on me for a while. Especially being out here in Dallas right now. I wish I could make music with him today.
When did you first realise that you had the potential to be an artist? Is there a memory that has stuck in your mind as the turning point for you?
Honestly, I’ve always just felt like I could be a great artist ever since I was a kid. There wasn’t a specific moment. It really has just been in me ever since a was a youngin so I just kept that mindset and kept it moving.
Do you play any instruments? If not, is there a specific one that you'd like to learn?
I grew up playing the trumpet but I haven’t really kept up with it. I'm from New Orleans so being able to play those types of instruments as a street musician would be a cool thing to do.
How would you define your sound?
I basically just try to stick with what I know. However, the beat makes me feel is how I sound for real. I don’t try to copy anybody. I just hop on the mic and do what I do. I think that’s the easiest way to make it in the industry. Stay true to yourself and keep going hard.
What's the story behind your artist name?
Well, I grew up on 416 street back in Marrero, LA. My first name is Dandre and everyone would call me Dee so I just took those two concepts and made my name because it’s true to who I am. 416DEDE
What is the biggest challenge you've faced as an artist?
I’d probably say just figuring out what I need to speed time and money on. There are so many things out there that I want to do and get accomplished but I don’t always know how I’m going to get there or what it takes. So being able to figure that stuff out has been challenging but I got a strong team and we always find a way to make it and figure things out.
What are your future plans? What can we look forward to for the rest of 2022?
I plan on putting out some more singles and projects. It might just be an EP but I’m not sure yet. I just keep grinding and let my team help me get to where I need to be.
Where would you like to be 5 years from now?
I’d like to be doing big shows. Talking to major artists in the industry by doing features and helping other people get to where I’m at in my music career.
