Unveiling Vocal Fry and Emotional Swirls in a Magnetic Minefield of Electronic Soundscapes
In a small town, tucked away from the mainstream EDM scene, emerges an artist named BestGhost who's anything but small in ambition.
Acting as a one-person team, BestGhost has taken on the roles of writer, producer, and vocalist, who operates out of his own Riverview Studios.
Far from his first musical rodeo, he became BestGhost after other projects disintegrated, carrying over influences from classical music into electronic channels.
His latest offering, "Waiting," is a sonic experiment that weaves vocal fryᅳa technique rarely heard in EDMᅳinto its fabric. Why vocal fry? According to the artist, it's the embodiment of the frustration that waiting can evoke. "That's what I want the listener to feel. Something we can all relate to," he states. The track, self-produced and recorded, serves as an example of what a single person can achieve when driven by the right influences and emotional textures.
Through each beat and progression, "Waiting" takes listeners through the cosmos of the electronic landscape in something that is reminiscent of a swirling dance of firing electrons and magnetic minefields.
Here, BestGhost has crafted a blend of melodies that anchor us yet lift us into not-so-melodic patterns that ooze with curiosity to keep us intrigued.
While still a new artist without live shows or reviews to his name, BestGhost is a testament to what can be achieved when you let your limitations fuel rather than thwart your creativity. "If you don't press play, you'll never know," he remarks. With a genre-spanning Dubstep, EDM, Rave, and Experimental, and a mood that oscillates between epic, euphoric, and quirky, BestGhost is a name to watch. All he needs is for the right person to listen.
