Dax has raised the bar once again with the release of "The Abyss" - There's something about this artist that grasps at every part of my own pain and I'm sure that other listeners will feel it so deeply too. The Abyss is exactly what it titles itself to be, it's dark there, lonely and it breeds all sorts of pains that we once thought we could forget. Dax effectively captures this metaphor by spilling his pains through his pen and washing them away in a river of tears throughout the video. There's no denying that this is an artist with everything in his soul, from happiness to pain he uses his reality to paint a vivid expression. Dax has shown us throughout the years that he is versatile releasing hits from Country to Emo Rap and through to Hip-Hop genius.
In "The Abyss" the emotional and philosophical elements ring similar to previous releases "Eternity" and "Suffocating" both lyrically and through execution. The bars are thought-provoking, relatable and showcase the genius of a true storyteller. The story is Dax's own, they're true and of great substance. "The Abyss" offers the feeling of releasing pain and strength from a mountaintop, through to the drowning of thoughts in a sea of pain. A strong and emotive opener to Dax's "What is Life?" EP.
In an industry where superficiality often overshadows substance, Dax stands tall, offering music that is not just heard but felt. "The Abyss" is a testament to this artist's unmatched ability to turn pain into poetry, making him not just a musician, but a healer for the modern age.
