Self-produced and packed with trippy hooks, the Toronto-based band’s fourth release captures the rush and haze of a racing mind.

Toronto-based band a little place called Aspen dive into a kaleidoscopic rush of sound with their latest single “Headspace”, released on 18 April 2025. Marking their fourth official release, the track stays true to the band's ethos: crafting infectious alt-pop songs that mix tight musicianship with vibrant, emotional storytelling.

Founded in 2022, Aspen’s mission was clear from the start—redefine the idea of the “boy band” by blending modern alt-pop with classic pop songwriting influences. Comprised of Nick Babcock, Hunter Sheridan, Jordan Moore, Nolan Hubbard, and Ty Callan, the band shares instrumental and vocal duties, creating a richly layered sound that continues to evolve with every release.

Self-recorded and produced by the band themselves, Headspace blends sharp hooks and shifting grooves into a track that flirts with the psychedelic without losing touch with reality.

It’s described as “a trippy ride through the mind, flirting with psychedelics while keeping one foot grounded to dodge the dark corners of a bad trip.”

Mixed by Dan Brodbeck and mastered by Montano Mastering, Headspace captures a balance between dreamy introspection and urgent energy. The single’s lyrics—"trees are flirting with my headspace, heart is in a drag race"—paint vivid scenes of losing and finding yourself in the moment, soundtracked by sunroof dreams and racing thoughts.

The track follows Aspen’s momentum from earlier singles, supported by praise from outlets like Illustrate Magazine, who called the band’s style “a dreamy yet urgent atmosphere,” and Plastic Magazine, noting their ability to blend “warm harmonies, lively arrangements and storytelling that engages listeners.”

Pop Passion Music Blog also added, “we find ourselves excited to hear more of what they have in the works!”

With influences ranging from Landon Conrath and Valley to LANY and the Band CAMINO, Headspace firmly places Aspen in the growing movement of bands redefining alternative pop for a new generation.

As they continue rolling out new music monthly throughout 2025 and into 2026, a little place called Aspen are steadily making their mark—bringing their fresh, energetic take on alt-pop to audiences across Canada and beyond.
